Abstract
Safranbolu is a cultural district of national and international importance, which has hosted various civilizations throughout history. Our district, which contains the traces of Ottoman civilization in a rich way, was included in the World Heritage List of UNESCO in 1994. Historical houses, streets, fountains, mosques, bridges, inns, baths, tradesmen's guilds are examples of historical traces that have survived to the present day. In the past, Safranbolu, with its location on the transit route of trade caravan routes, provided the development of traditional handicrafts. However, developing technology and changes in lifestyle have caused many traditional professions to lose their importance in Safranbolu. These professions can be listed as follows, such as leather making, saddle-making, shoemaking, counter-working, food making, mest-making, tin-making, stove-making, weaving, saddlery, farrier and basketry.
