Abstract
Research work on economic behavior, specifically on Psychosocial Factors and Consumerism. The objective of the study was to know the psychosocial factors that provoke the consumerism in young university students of the Psychology and Social Communication Faculties of the Central University of Ecuador; as a way to establish a baseline for future research in the framework of the work carried out by the Observatory of Economic Behavior and Public Policy. The study has a non-experimental, descriptive and cross-sectional methodology. The information was collected in a non-probabilistic sample of 300 students from the Faculties of Psychology and Social Communication of the Central University of Ecuador. The results of the research show that young university students do not fall within the category of consumerism, because there are moderate manifestations in their economic behavior, evidencing a good level of planning of their purchases; It ...
