Abstract
In Ecuador, quality is a value-adding component in education, the same one which is legally constituted in the corpus of current educational regulations. To this end, the state has promulgated a set of policies that guide, instruct, and control the achievement of quality goals in the different educational services. This research work aims to identify the scope and benefits of the ISO 21001: 2018 standard in the Quality Management System of private educational institutions in Ecuador. The methodological route is designed from a qualitative, non-experimental level, complemented by analyzing authors' proposals and specialized documents recognized by the scientific community. In the theoretical order, this research work contributes significantly to developing other investigations and as a source for further academic works related to quality management and standardization in educational systems.
