Abstract
Currently it is recognized that professionals in Higher Education need to be prepared to give solutions to complex problems in dynamic contexts, to achieve this requires a set of knowledge that goes beyond disciplinary or technical knowledge, they require skills and attitudes known as "soft skills”. These skills play a key role in engineering, which is why there has been increasing interest in identifying and teaching them. In this context, is important a theoretical and documentary review confronted with the author's points of view, in the first place of the approach to "knowledge" from different disciplines such as psychology, cognitive sciences, philosophy, which has directly influenced education and training processes, our interest is in Higher Education, then, on the efforts that have been made in the context of software engineering to incorporate soft skills at the curricular, pedagogical and didactic level.
