Abstract
This paper presents a mapping of citizen science experiences in Mexico, starting with a brief history of openness efforts in the country, and then presents a list of experiences from which some are chosen for an in-depth description by means of a metasynthesis methodology using citizen science threshold variables proposed by Sanabria-Z et al. (2022). Fourteen experiences of citizen science work are presented, in order to present in depth the experience of three of them. It is concluded that in Mexico there are short and long-standing work projects that can serve as examples or as elements of recovery to continue working on proposals for access and promotion of citizen science that have an impact on access to knowledge in the country and globally.
