Abstract
In this research is analyzed the participation of women in political processes at the global, worldwide, regional, and national levels. In particular, the elections for deans at the Central University of Ecuador are considered as a case study. Although there are several studies in this regard, the characteristic of this article is to answer the question: What are the factors that influence women ‘s access to spaces of power and decision-making at the national level and for, that participation be given in an inclusive, equitable way in the positions of political representation? Politics is not in line with legislative advances, they are not only electoral processes, universal, national, and sectional elections; but also, this phenomenon extends to the sphere of positions in the educational, in the public and private field, and others.
