Abstract
As a result of the expansion of the use of the internet and the new Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), several challenges have arisen for Law, especially for the contractual area. Considering the advancement of computer systems, their dissemination in the most diverse sectors of society and the risks inherent to their use, the purpose of the article is to examine the compatibility between smart contracts and the change of circumstances in long-term contracts. The research will look at the aspects of today's society, with emphasis on the concepts of Information Society and Smart Contracts. The research method is deductive and the procedure is analytical, through indirect research with the consultation of books and scientific journals. It is important to note that an exhaustive analysis of the bibliographic content is not sought.
