Abstract
The article analyzes the influence of CEPAL in the Brazilian and Argentinian process of industrialization. At first, it will be approached the economic underdevelopment in the region, such as its causes and consequences. Then, it will be discussed the role of CEPAL inside Latin America, its essential goals as its mains elements. At last, it will be presented a retrospective of the industrialization of these countries relating it with the theory of CEPAL. It infers that the same had influenced, mainly in the industrialization process, although does not explain in a complete way the economic development of these countries. Even so, it deserves to be featured as a theory that discusses the underdevelopment in the institutional and international levels.
