Abstract
Low volume roads are allocated most of the every country road network to its own. In Iran country also more than 50 % of the roads devoted to the low volume roads. Rural and secondary roads leading to the main roads are low volume roads. Low quality materials generally are used in the construction of these roads, and as a result, they damage and decay sooner than the predicted time. Also, due to the long distance transport, the use of the high quality and standard materials is not possible. So it is necessary to stabilize the local materials with stabilizing materials. In this study have been evaluated the compressive strength of materials with determining lime optimum percentage. The lime optimum percentage is determined by standard CBR test (AASHTO – T – 193).According to the obtained results, acceptable strength and Bearing resulted by adding 3 to 4% lime. Also the results showed whit the stabilization of sub-base layer, the th...
