Abstract
composite plates are increasingly used in thin-walled structural components of aircrafts, submarines, automobiles, and other high-performance application areas. In this paper the optimization of Antisymmetric Angle-ply laminate and Cross-ply under four kinds of transverse loading with simply supported are studied. The optimization aim is maximizing the strength of laminate. The four kinds of loading that applied to the laminate are uniform load, point load, line load and Hydrostatic load. Classical lamination plate theory and Navier solution is used to obtain stresses and deflection of the plate. The failure mechanism of the problem is Tsai-Wu criterion. To optimize the problem, the bees algorithm is used. The ply orientations of plate are chosen as the primary optimization variables. Optimization applied for different aspect ratio of plate, and diagrams of the maximum allowable load are plotted.    Index Terms—Optimization, Bees...
