Abstract
An accelerated electron radiates electromagnetic radiation and therefore one expects a direct relationship between the charge of electron e and the Planck’s constant h - the characteristic property of the radiation. The purpose of this paper is to derive relationship between e, c and h. We accomplish this by reinterpretation of Poynting’s equation for flux of energy radiated by an electron in simple harmonic motion together with the Einstein equation for energy of photon E ν = h.ν. This analysis leads to a term H = (2π)4 .e2 /2c = 6.0 . 10 -27 erg.s which is close to Planck’s constant h = 6.6 . 10 -27 erg.s. We also show that the amplitude of the electrical component of the electromagnetic wave Eem 0 = (2.0) . 10-16 V, and it is same for all wavelengths from gamma rays to radio waves. keywords: Planck’s constant, quantum mechanics, electromagnetic waves, fundamental constants
